My husband's iPhone 4s 16 GB is running OS 7.1.2. There is 10.4 GB available space. I attempted to upgrade to iOS8.1.2 over wifi not connected to my laptop. Said download failed, that I would be notified when available. Do I have to connect to my laptop via USB & connect to iTunes to be able to download & install OS 8.1.2 which is 919 MB. Do I have to install the original iOS 8.0 before installing 8.1.2? If so, where do I find it to install?
