There is a stop (pause) button but you have to find the song. I was having difficulty finding the song. Seems to me, if I recall correctly, that stopping it would only work for a while and then it would come blasting on again.
I have since done a reboot of my phone OS and I think that may have solved the problem. It did on a walk but I haven't had a chance yet to try it in the car!
