Re: [apple-iphone] Hacked email

This may be a wave of previously hacked email addresses. About a year ago or so. If the others are in his Yahoo contacts this will prove it.

Nothing can be done, but the emails are spam sent to known email addresses of known contacts. Even if he cancelled his email address, these will occur from time to time. Just delete, there is no harm apart from annoyance.

I work for a telco, and our mail system was moved to Yahoo some years ago, we are well aware of this issue. The reason nothing can be done is that the emails are not being sent from him, or Yahoo. Changing the PW won't help, but he should have changed it when this issue was found, so his email cannot be accessed by the hackers. No harm in changing now though for peace of mind.

Subject: [apple-iphone] Hacked email

My son's Yahoo email has been hacked, sending email to me and others containing an attachment which I haven't opened.  Who should he contact on Yahoo to clear up this matter?  I've advised him to change his  Yahoo password?  The hacked email was sent from an iPhone, whether his or not I don't know.  Is there a way to contact Yahoo directly instead of going thru the "contact Yahoo" email?  I don't know the procedures for fixing this.
