I work in surgery (anesthesia) and utilize an antiviral wipe on my iPhone DAILY before leaving for home. Have done this for years without mishap.Chip

Unless you are doing an elaborate scrubbing and gloving and de-gloving dance, you are probably deluding yourself with the wipes. After all, if the iPhone is exposed to the OR, those contaminating particles will get into the ports and spaces around the switches almost as easily as the flat surfaces.
You would probably be better off keeping in sealed in a ziplock bag, and wiping down the surface of the bag at the end of the day – then slicing off the non-zip side of the bag and dumping the phone out.
