If it is happening with more than one adaptor, it may be the wall socket. As someone else mentioned, they do wear out

It could be, but as long as it works and charges up my machine, I'll use it. I am ordering some more adaptors, some oem some not just in case. I worry that eventually there will be a new adapter I'll be stuck as long as we can keep our computers longer.
