I have the original AC charger for my iPhone 5 I got last fall.

Over the last couple weeks, when I plug my phone in, it takes several seconds for the phone to accept/recognize that it is plugged in. Sometimes I have to "flip" the plug (turn it over) for the phone to start charging.

The cord is not frayed or anything. However, one of the metal grooves on the plug-in doesn't have the shine to it like the others.

Any suggestions, short of ordering a new plug-in?

I know it's not the phone - my car charger does fine, as does the Lighting cord I used at work with my iHome radio.

  Thanks
