When you say the connection is "breaking up", what do you mean? Is what you
hear breaking up, or is the person you're talking to complaining of you
breaking up? If the latter, it could be wind getting into the microphone,
or if you're holding the switch/mic up to your mouth, you're probably
overloading the audio circuitry, and the limiter is cutting your level. As
far as the charging problem, unknown what the problem would be.

Subject: [apple-iphone] Apple Store Stock for Warranty
My iPhone 5 may be defective. When I use the earpods to take a call the
connection is breaking up all the time. If I don't use the earpods,
everything is fine. So I bought a second pair of earpods ( kinda forgot
about warranty) but have the same problem.
Also, when I put in the charging wire, sometimes nothing happens. I have
two charging wires, so I switch wires and it works, so I switch back to the
original wire and it works too. Seems to be the iPhone rather than the
accessories.
So, what I'm wondering is, if I go to the Apple store, do they keep
inventory on hand to handle warranty replacement? I know to order a new one
they are indicating 3 to 4 weeks. But I am wondering if they keep a stash
to handle replacements.
