[apple-iphone] Re: iPhone 5 and some calls going to voicemail

I think this is an AT&T capacity issue. When their towers have more traffic than they can handle, some of them are not dispatched but sent to voicemail. This happens occasionally due to tower congestion. I have it sometimes with my 4S and my wife gets it with her 3GS. The only remedy I know is to switch to Verizon.

By the way, are you in a huricane Sandy affected area? This would likely exacerbate the problem.

I do get an audiable voicemail notification and when I look at the screen, I see a recent call. The signal strength is -103 dBm. Any ideas anyone? What signal level does one have to have before the system goes directly to voicemail?
