Re: [apple-iphone] Why not getting new phone?

If they told you 14-21 business days, figuring 5 business days per week, 21 business days makes just over one calendar month, or 4 calendar weeks plus.

You never told us who your son ordered from AT&T or Apple. Have "they" given you any updates? What was the original ETA "they" gave you? Did he ever get a confirmation the order was received?

Have you tried contacting "them"?

Thanks, all, for the reassurance. I never had to wait for a phone except the 5. I preordered and had to wait about 10 days, so this 4-wk wait my son is experiencing surprised me.

Re: [apple-iphone] What is other?

It looks like restore worked. We will see if "other" returns. I also had another issue with iPad. I had my iPhone MacBook and iPad to sync bookmarks. The other day all the bookmarks were gone from iPad. While I am at it. The settings for getting email on my iPhone changed. It's like my devices are possessed.

I'm restoring as backup now. Will try as new if this doesn't work. It is iPad. If it were iPhone it would be much more serious

I've been dealing with that for a couple months now. And while suggestions like restarting device while connected to iTunes worked with my iPhone, it doesn't help with the iPad. I'm scheduling it for a forth reset tomorrow. This time, setting it up as new. Not from backup because it just returns the "Other".

Yes, I had my appointment today and explained my two intermittent problems.
They asked for the phone "to check the serial number" but in fact checked
for the water damage marker :). A little bit latter I walked out with a new
black 64GB iPhone. Hopefully I will not see these problems again. You just
can't fault Apple's customer service.

Re: [apple-iphone] Why not getting new phone?

I got my order in for NY iPhone 5 the night preorders started and so I got it during the first shipment. I made the mistake with the iPhone 4 to wait a week and it took too long to get the phone.

[apple-iphone] Re: Why not getting new phone?

Off the top of my head -- with no hard evidence to support it -- I'd guess that a 32GB black AT&T phone is one of the most sought after models; hence the shortage.
Now, one might wonder why that wasn't anticipated in the manufacturing orders, but.........
