exactly. while you don't need to buy from apple you should not buy cheap. inexpensive/less expensive is different from cheap. you can get good cables at any verizon or at&t store or online from kensington. but I would avoid the cables and adapters typically found at grocery and drug store check-out lines and the really cheap cables on ebay.
