I've used an original iPod Touch with such a charger since the device was released and it's still in perfect condition after all of these years. My understanding is that there is a system built into the I devices that prevents overcharging damage to the battery.

I bought a docking station/clock/am-fm radio/speaker/charger for my iPhone. I like to keep my phone plugged in it because:1) I don't misplace the phone; it has a home.2) It's kept charged.3) It holds the phone upright so I can see messages and whose calling from my chair, without having to pick it up.But I worry.1) Will constantly plugging it in every day wear out the plug?2) Will sitting on the dock, constantly charging, "cook" the battery, shortening its life?Anybody know? Thanks, blair
