The question was about other sources for lightning cables. I don't remember where I got mine, but I ordered 2 cables USB to 32-pin and then had to get lightning adaptors for each. One of them came apart after only a little use. I do occasionally get warnings that "this is not an Apple product and may not work right." (or words to that effect.) Sure enough, some were not recognized by my iPhone 5. I found that reversing the lightning adapter where it plugs into the phone works one way and not the other. The result of all this - I think the next time I will just pay a little more and get the real thing.
