Don't look at what the others are doing, look at what you do and if you might change that in the future.
I have help on to my unlimited plan, also. Currently, my usage is probably around the 300MB mark. When I am working it usually runs over the 1GB mark, and when I travel for work, it often goes over 2GB.
So it is good you have been monitoring it, now you have look at your future for the next 3-5 years and guess at what your usage will be, and then you can apply a little math to figure out the costs of the 2 or 3
possibilities. Then guess at each scenarios probability.
The last I looked, cost of 2GB is only about $5 cheaper, and the overage uses become prohibitive for me.
