I bought my first iphone about a year maybe two after it first came out. At the time there was not data limitation like there is today. I had unlimited. Eventually I added three of my adult children and the my husband who came into the iphone arena late. By then unlimited was not an option for them. I have kept my unlimited data for the main reason that my life is so filled these days with mini managements and I'm tired of trying to figure out what charges mean and how I have to worry about usage, etc. and I did not want to have to worry about how I used my phone. I was dissappointed after the initial phone that data became another expense . Now practically I probably dont use all that much data at all. I am home most of the time and use WIFI. I don't travel hardly at all, but maybe someday I will and won't want to worry about data. I know when I see notices that one of my kids go over I get this "panic" feeling because I know they are not going to be able to watch closely how much data they use. One of my adult children on my contract lives in a large city and uses her phone a lot in her job (and she doesn't get a "work" phone) and often goes over her data package about a week or less before the next billing period; She has what was the minimal data package which is no longer offered. My son goes over once in a while but he has a slightly larger package because a few years ago he went on a trip outside the US and I increased his data and never reduced it because the data plans have since changed. My husband never goes over and has a minimal package. He uses his phone for some work related calls but he rarely "chit chats on his phone" and gets compensation for work. We am still with ATT and I am still unlimited. I thought about the new sharing plan so that I could add another adult child to my plan and my ipad which I have ability for cellular plan but usually use it at home anyway or somewhere where there is WIFI. Bottom line, for me anyway, it gets way to complicated. I prefer simplicity. Give me a price that includes everything and not worry about the small stuff. Ideal I know but that is how I would prefer it.
