Hi Brent - great article. Does two factor authentication help to mitigate the possibility of take over if one only has a single account? I know when I access my account from new or strange computers I get a text to enter a code. Not sure about in app shenanigans though. With Google two factor there is a special app code that is entered when allowing an app to access my google calendar and then it is linked but my google password is never used. I do not use Sunrise so not sure how two factor authentication would be applied in that case.

This article just was just "published" today. Ignore the title for now and read it to the end. It suggests a good reason to keep more than one Apple ID, to compartmentalize your stuff and your security. It does not solve the OPs issue of having purchased stuff from Apple with 2 different IDs, but it does pose a good reason to have more than one.BrentOn Jan 13, 2014, at 10:31 AM, Ellen Lerner wrote:I have 2 itunes ID's but not because I wanted two. I had to change my apple ID at some point and iTunes would not let me merge the two id's, which for me is a terrible idea. So now when I update certain apps I have I have to be sure to remember the passwords for which ID since I purchased older apps under the former ID. Each ID is associated with a different email address since at the time I don't think I had an apple address.
