I've had Dark Sky for while. The new version has a lot more information than the older version. I have not used it enough to know if the predictions are close are not. I really like the looks of it. It is not just another weather app. This one attempts to predict when precipitation will start at your location and how long it will last. We have rain predicted for the first of the week. I'll watch it and check back.
If Dark Sky uses the data to make a better prediction then it is worthwhile. I have only had it a few days so still to early to see if it is a keeper but so far I like their simple interface to tell me what's going on. With other weather apps I found my interpretation of the info was usually better than theirs.

I've heard that the Dark Sky app is excellent at predicting precipitation. But does it work well all over the country or are there iffy parts away from major metro areas? I live in a small town in Vermont. Would this app be worth it for someone in an area like mine?
If anyone has this app, I'd love to hear your review/opinion.
Many thanks,
Cathy

Okay, pardon the supremely basic question about this here. I just bought a refurb iPad4 which is the first with 4G/LTE. I occasionally see it say 4G but usually it depicts LTE when I am using cellular. The download speeds are in the 20-25 Mbps range. What is the difference between 4G and LTE?
Thanks,Dick Johnson------------------------------------Richard E Johnson, ScM, MD, DABANo. If you get LTE, you have LTE. If you get good speed with your LTE, it should be okay.
Archie OK got my gold 5S and am totally impressed with the way it refilled from iCloud.
I have a LTE question. The phone defaults to LTE but then only 1/2 bars. 4G 4/5 bars. Does that mean that my local towers haven't upgraded to LTE? Should I care/worry?

Bret;
When a beta version of iOS "expires" you no longer have access to the operating system on the phone. So, no you can't get to settings you can get to anything so you cannot just turn off find my iPhone.
Erase data is one of the options that you have under the find my iPhone app. If a phone is lost it's one of the things you can do to protect your data. It is not part of the normal restore/upgrade process.
In follow-up to my original post the race data does not affect the Sam. I was able after using that function to restore an upgrade the phone to the next beta version. Then restore from a recent back up the phone is now back to normal.

I have a defunct email that is apparently attached to some software on my new phone. How do I fix this?

I got this message a while back and tried all sorts of things. I even tried removing the listed programs but did not know the 'correct' order at the time. Nothing worked for me. I finally tried running a registry cleaning program and let it repair the registry. That worked. I do not reccomend the average user try this.
