I'm wondering how big of an issue this really is. The iPhone already automatically switches from wifi to cellular when the wifi is lost. Wifi Assist makes it switch when the wifi signal fades too low to be useful.
This could be a problem if you have a dead spot in your home. But you would already know if you do. Other than that I don't see a down side for me personally.
The majority of the article headlines I see seem to be link bait. Who even knew about this feature before you saw the headlines 'The most hated iOS 9 feature ever!!!'
Mac Observer gives a nice unbiased article here:
I have no problem with NOT loosing whatever stream I'm playing as I leave home, get in the care and drive to work.

Its trueBasis is that if you are somewhere and the wifi is weak, it will use cellular if that is a better signal. Say I go outside at my home for a cold one in the sun, wifi is fine but weaker, my LTE is fast, maybe I will be on LTE and consume my limited cellular data. This function is on by default.

Subject: [apple-iphone] Wi Fi Assist with newest update
I have not yet updated because I have seen on line posts that this feature can cause one to go over their data plan an potentially cause very high cell phone bills.
Is this true?If so, what are my options?Thank-youPeggyiphone6
