True, Brent. The email was originally set up for our freelance business. At this point changing it would be more trouble than it's worth. Besides, my husband would be resistant.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who would find a "Select All move to Trash" option for iOS useful on occasion. Since it has been available on Mac OS since the beginning, why remove it on its sister operating system? Do they think iOS users are dumber than Mac users and would use it to screw up their email? After all, it just moves email to the Trash folder. It doesn't delete it completely.
Guess we'll never know the rationale. It's small potatoes to most users, I guess. Too bad for me.
Cathy
The option is to not share an email account with your husband, orlive with it.

If you are currently using POP3 and can switch to IMAP you can readily configure the clients on your multiple platforms (iPhone, iPad, iMac in your case) to delete mail deleted on any platform. It's also possible that you are already using IMAP and simply haven't configured it to do what you actually want.

I only want the iPhone and iPad synchronized, not the iMac since my husband is the primary user there and would be mightily put out if his mail suddenly started disappearing. Switching to separate emails isn't an option for several reasons.
