Re: [apple-iphone] iPhone no longer allowing texts to non iPhone users to sync to iPad or MacBook Pro

After I was forced to change my Apple password to a more secure password last week I have been unable to use my iPad or my MacBook Pro to send or receive any text messages to anyone with a smart phone other than an iPhone.........I can still reach them with the iPhone itself, but it will not go to or from the other phones.

Are the iPad and Macbook Pro currently signed in to iCloud?
Mac: System Preferences, click on iCloud, click on Account Details, enter the current password
iPad (or iPhone): Settings — iCloud — tap on your name at the top, enter the current password

On your iPhone, look at Settings — Messages

Is "iMessage" at the top switch to "On" ?

Is "Send as SMS" lower down set to "On" ?
If iMessaging is unavailable (such as going to an Android phone), the iPhone will send the message as a text SMS ONLY if this is set to On.

My MacBook Pro is a 13" with Yosemite V10.10.3
IPad is iPad 3  - ios8.3
iPhone is iPhone 6 with iOS 8.3

You might as well update them to the current versions: iOS 8.4 and MacOS 10.10.4. Some fixes, no real downside.
