Wow, I tried that on my iPhone and it worked! Thanks so much!

>I think what he was referring to was this procedure: - hit edit,
- Mark All,
- hit Mark as Read.
- hit "edit again"
- select the top message by hitting the dot on the left
- put your finger on Move, at the bottom, and while keeping it there, hit the selection bottom on the top message to deselect it, then remove your finger from the move button
- you will then get a screen where you can choose Trash - it may take a while if you have many messages. You will see the messages "fly" into Trash.
- then go to Trash and delete all. You should do this right away, or sometimes the messages will reappear in your mailbox.
This procedure works almost all the time on my iPad. It only works maybe 50% of the time on my iPhone (the messages reappear in the inbox), but if I keep trying it usually eventually works. Sometimes I have to give us and delect them one by one.
What I don't understand is why it works most of the time on my iPad and only sometimes on my iPone.
I too have all of my mail (several different mailboxes) appear on my Mac, my iPhone and my iPad. I like to read the mail on which every device I have with me. Some of the mailboxes I share with my husband, so I don't want my deleting messages affect his getting them. I would love to have a procedure less complicated than the above steps, or at least one that works all of the time, not just some of the time.
Try out the procedure - you may have more success than I.
