I assume you meant text, not sync in the subject line, correct?

Are you saying you can text to and from the iPhone to non-iphone smart phones or is that not working either?

Is Messages on the MBP & iPad set to Send as SMS?

I am sure there must be a setting that I have missed butI can't seem to find it and neither could either of the tech I talked with today.

My MacBook Pro is a 13" with Yosemite V10.10.3
IPad is iPad 3 - ios8.3
iPhone is iPhone 6 with iOS 8.3
