Group,
For some months I've been dealing with VERY slow sync issues. Sometimes it takes up to two hours.
But, I was reluctant to restore my iPhone 5 (64GB) to factory settings, just because I have my iPhone the way I want it. I have about 8-12 GB free, so it's not full.
I have a laptop PC running Windows 7. It was not always this slow.....

Anyway, I have tried other cords (Factory and Belkin), with no change.
Fast forward to yesterday - new iPad mini retina, 128 GB. New cord, etc. Set up as new.
This sync also took HOURS. I expected it would some time, as I'm loading a lot of files on it. But it's been running at least 12 hours for about 75 GB.
Obviously I'm therefore thinking my PC is the issue.
Any ideas if this is a software or hardware issue? I do regular back-ups, and I plan to do a restore on the PC at some point this week - unless someone has a better idea. I really hate to do that, but I can't be having a two hour sync every time; and I like to keep my stuff backed up.
I would note that the USB ports work fine with my other items (Garmin GPS, Kindle, etc.) with no issues. So I'm thinking it's software.
And, yes, I have updated iTunes. I've also deleted and reinstalled iTunes. The PC is clean as far as virus, spyware, malware.
I am at a loss...
