Susan, what means are you trying to use to listen to your music, the internal speaker, earbuds, bluetooth device…. When you are trying to play music, have you tried pressing the volume up button? I have found that there are multiple volume controls, if you will, that are only available when in certain modes.

I have sound when I am texting, my phone rings or when my alarm goes off. I cannot listen to downloaded music though. I try to play Pandora or live stream with a local radio station and I hear nothing. I even tried re-booting my phone. It is a 3Gs.
