My 13" Macbook Pro is having trouble backing up to the external drive via Suer Duper. It is taking an unreasonable amount of time to get through the backup process. A little history -- I had trouble with this earlier, and found that the hard drive had some errors (using disk utility). I ran the repair disk, then repaired permissions, and all seemed well with the drive. This is the first backup since that episode. The program is not showing any errors, but it has been running nearly 6 days on this backup and the status indicator is finally nearing the end. I'm thinking it may be time to try another external drive.
Other information:
I'm backing up a 500 GB internal drive to a 1TB external LaCie portable drive through a firewire 800 connection
There is not quite 200 GB of data on the drive I am trying to back up
Any ideas?
