[apple-iphone] IOS3 IPhone dead... polarity?

 

IOS3 IPhone I had pluged in to charge my phone at my new place, Not knowing at the time the polarity was reversed, could that be the cause of a 3 IOS to die?
Thank You for any info. Also can it be fixed?
