The iPhone 4 would definitely become slow with iOS 7. It's not as fast as it would be on iOS 6. But new apps would support iOS 7 only very soon. So you need to make a choice.

Not true.

SOME Apps will support only iOS 7, but many will continue to support 6 AND 7.
