I say don't report it YET because you are the very first to report such a problem on this forum, and others are specifically NOT having this happen to them, so either it is a localized glitch, or quite rare and only occurs in some special circumstances, and it will help Apple if we can determine *what* circumstances.
Does this happen with the note field in ANY entry in Contacts, or only some?
While you are originally *creating* a contact, or if you edit one later?
What model iPhone is this?
Was it updated over-the-air on the iPhone or via a connection to your computer, and iTunes?
My first-line attempted solution to strangenesses that crop up in the first weeks after a major OS upgrade is to re-boot the device (hold both the Home button and the On/Off switch down until the Apple appears, then let it complete the process).
