My sincere thanks to everyone for the shared information and confirmation of the ability to do a conversion. I came across a little utility called iPhone Video Converter by Xilisoft, which handled a short wmv file conversion with ease.

I'll second Brent's suggestion here. I've never — so far — had a failure when converting via Handbrake. Sandy
