I use a program called iMazing to do backups. I have a pc, but they have a Mac version as well.

You can keep archives of backups, as well as lots of other features (too numerous to mention, see the website above). It's not free, but I think it's worth it. I bought a family license ($50); a single user is $30.

If I "archive" a backup in iTunes, will it do that? Will it create a copy that does not get changed?


Will it keep that backup on my Mac without changing it so that I can go back to it later even if I do several backups in the meantime?
