Gradually, I am using Apple TV more and regular TV less. I use the services that are part of Apple TV mostly but you should also note that even without the services that appear in your Apple TV menu, you can also set your Iphone or Ipad to use "air play" and stream the content to your TV. For example, I do this with NBC's Extra Time app that is not on Apple TV. On my cable TV service NBC's Extra Time soccer games are not available in HD but on the iPhone they are streamed in HD. So I watch those games via Airplay in HD streamed to the television. I also do the same with a few ESPN packages that are streamed but not available via Watch ESPN on Apple TV. You can also "mirror" your iPhone and iPad via Apple TV to your TV. You should note that "mirroring" from an iPad does not give you a 16 X 9 aspect ratio on your TV but it does from an Iphone. As others have mentioned, use the Apple TV Remote app for iPhone of iPad is MUCH easier than the physical remote that comes with the Apple TV. I bought my Apple TV as an impulse buy while in the Apple Store, perhaps the best purchase I have made in the past couple of years. I now find myself thinking about dumping cable TV. The only reason I do not, is because you can't get certain channels on Apple TV unless you already get those channels on Cable or Satellite (ESPN)

I think it is pretty easy to use remote or phone with apple TV. I usually prefer the remote.
