The 6 wasnt tight in his pant pockets, but from all accounts, it is slightly pliable, less so than the Plus. The more I read the more I feel the strength is fine, but there is a weak point just below the volume buttons. The 6 I referred to got a hairline crack there, I'd put that down to a minimal amount of movement, but movement none the less occurring. The 6 Plus's fail at that point with a bend that stays bent.

It bent in his side pocket? How? All by itself?

Yes I agree. This bending issue is seemingly a real issue, the update stopped cellular working, quite bad news. Even the iPhone 6 is a potential issue, a guy on another forum, got his replaced, as he had it in his side pocket, while driving, and it got a hairline crack near the volume button, right where the bend occurs.
