Well I got lucky today.
I bent over to turn water on and iphone fell out of my shirt pocket landing in chicken water bucket. Grabbed it out, shook off as much water that I could. Turned off power. I then went to house and put it in a zip lock w/ rice. Seems to be ok now, To be safe I'll leave in rice overnight.
So, yes rice works!
