[apple-iphone] No Calendar Sync after iOS 8 update

 

After updating to iOS 8 on my iPhone and my wife's iPad the Calendar Sync didn't work on the iPad, although Family sync of purchases was working.

I restored Calendar (and Notes) sync on the iPad to working order as follows:

Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone/iPad and sign back in:

Go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out, choose Delete from My iPhone/iPad and provide your password when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud).  Then reset your phone (hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release); when it restarts go back to Settings>iCloud and sign back in (your data will download back to your phone.  Then try syncing to your Mac (and vice versa) again and see if it works properly now.

Note that the setting of iCloud Drive ON/OFF is irrelevant - iCloud Drive only affects documents and data, not calendars. So if you set it to ON, you don't need to wait for Yosemite on any associated Mac to fix any syncing problem.
