Re: [apple-iphone] Wiping Old iPhone 3GS Clean

As long as iTunes identifies the two iPhones correctly, 3GS and 5, just do an Restore to factory default on the 3GS.

To be on the safe side, search Apple support for what to do when you sell an iPhone. You might have another step to do so it allows her to use it with the iTunes Store, like to un-authorize it from your account.

I have my iPhone 5, which I picked up on "opening day" a couple years ago.  I moved everything from my old iPhone 3GS, and all works well.

My mom is needing an MP3 player, and I would like to give her my iPhone 3GS.  Is there anything I should be concerned about before wiping it clean - as in, would anything on the iPhone 5 be lost by wiping it from the old phone?

Also, if anyone has the best/simplest way to wipe the iPhone 3GS, I would appreciate it.

Thank you!
