It may be that the phone itself is faulty, causing the original and the new battery to appear not to work well.
Another solution is recalibrating. Keep the phone off the charger, except when it needs charging. Allow it to run almost flat, charge to 100%. Run this cycle a few times, it may be that the battery is fine, but its out of calibration.

Have you tried to reset the phone by holding the power button and home button until the Apple logo appears? Might be worth a shot, if not.

Subject: [apple-iphone] battery issue need some suggestions
A few weeks ago I had my iPhone 5 battery replaced with a new one. (I was surprised at how quickly they did it, in less than 5 minutes as I watched, they put a new battery in.
It certainly solved my problems. The original battery was not holding a charge at all.
So its been about 1 month since I did that and I have been traveling a lot since that time so my phone has often been connected to a charger.
Now that I am back home, in the last 2 days, I noticed that with a full charge of 100% at midnight (when I go to bed) at 7 AM when I get up my phone is dead, no battery life at all?
Any idea of whats causing this? The phone charges very quickly, from dead to full change in a relatively short time. But now it seems to loose power pretty fast too.
I don't have any apps running that I know of but maybe I don't know? so any suggestions on what might be the cause and a solution?
