Oh I was hoping it would be better. I have had the opportunity to use a Galaxy S4 for the week and the speaker phone is wonderful. But I hate the Android. I am finding it very complicated after having an iPhone since the 3. I was hoping the iPhone 5s would give me the same speaker quality as the Samsung but it's good for me to know that it won't so thanks so much for responding.

Judy, I have a 5s, and the speaker quality on it is probably comparable to that on the 4. It's a very small speaker doing the best it can. A good alternative would be a bluetooth earpiece. It would give you more privacy and better quality.
