Re: [apple-iphone] Is iPhone 6 too old?

Whatever you get, consider getting at least 32GB of storage.

A 16GB device will work, but you will be continually wondering about and adjusting for adequate space.

I would go for a 6s or SE rather than a 6, even if I had to make payments on it.

It's time to replace my iPhone 4s. I prefer to buy my phone outright, rather that finance thru the phone company. Recently retired, I can't afford a new phone, I but can get a used, unlocked 6 iPhone w/ new battery, for about $250 usa$. I like the "6's" bigger screen.

1) Is the "6" too old? If I can get three years out of it, I'd consider it a good investment.

2) So I move the sim card from the 4s to the 6, then update the 6 from backup. Can I keep using the 4s as a "iPod", and use the gps, apps, email and browse the internet via wifi. I know it won't work as a phone w/o the sim card, but will the rest keep working with local wifi?
