Not for sure, Otto. There is not a noticable "bump" or such for circuitry, but it probably wouldn't take much.

My 8 came with earbuds that terminate in a lightning connector. There is also a lightning connector to 1/8" adapter pigtail included with the phone.. Of course, bluetooth phones are a non-issue.
