The only method that I have found that works without having to mark each email separately is to do the following:
- hit edit and then (in lower left) mark all as unread. (This is not absolutely necessary, but I have found that if you don't do it, sometimes the "unread" number stays even though the messages aren't there.
- Hit edit again.
- Mark the top email (dot on left)
- While keeping your finger on the "Move" on the bottom of the screen (in the middle). touch the first email (the dot will go away), then release your finger from the "move"
- You should then see a new screen that allows you to press trash and all of the emails will go into the trash.
If you have very many emails to be trashed, this may take several tries, and in some cases it may seemingly work, and then all of the emails reappear in the inbox; you then try again. It's best to do this method with not a huge number of emails.
Hope this helps,
Nancy
