I miss the width of the 6+ a little bit esp in landscape mode but I love the ability to carry it in a pocket without worry of it falling out. Also it is easier on the wrist one handed for me with arthritis. I must confess, though, I rarely type one handed. I just tried it and can see it is difficult to reach the right upper 2 rows of letters with my left thumb.
The plus may be better for how your hand works - flexibility of the thumb and length of fingers. If the X doesn't work for you then no matter how advanced or popular it is don't keep it. Supposedly there may be a plus version of the X next year.
Try a couple of more days then return it within the return window.
Good luck and let us know your decision.

I am 6'3" tall and have large hands. The Plus sized phones are still uncomfortable in one hand trying to type. It always feels like it wants to fall out of my hand.So having an X is so delightful.
It's also a beautiful design. Having the silver version with "chrome bumpers" is just stunning! :-)On Sat, Dec 2, 2017 at 7:40 AM, Sandy Foster fostersandy2010@gmail.com [apple-iphone] <apple-iphone@yahoogroups.com> wrote:Similar to you, Roger, I went from a 6s (no +) to the 8Plus and had a difficult time with the size, due to having relatively small hands. I now have the X and love it! Small form, large screen = best of both worlds.

I forgot how I hated our big the unit is. Almost impossible to hold and type in one hand.So I upgraded to the X and it's perfect.I can type with one hand again but get the larger screen like a Plus. No home button, Face ID etc.Keep with it and see if you will adjust to it. I think you have 14 days to return it.On Thu, Nov 30, 2017 at 7:38 PM, Cyn flanders1@charter.net [apple-iphone] <apple-iphone@yahoogroups.com> wrote:I have had the iPhone X for about five days now. This thing is fast, fast, fast. I should mention that I upgraded from a 6+ so I may have missed some speed improvements between then and now. This phone is slick. With that said, I am finding it harder than I thought it would be using a smaller width phone and keyboard. I seem to be stumbling over my own thumbs while typing. I am sure that can improve with time and familiarity. Turning the phone to landscape mode was a bit of a strain. I bit too much strain without asking for hand trouble/stress. I happened to go into the Verizon store yesterday for two wireless chargers. While there, I briefly (Like a minute.) played with the iPhone 8+. That phone seemed just as snappy/quick as the X. It was tempting me to go back to the + size. I am shocked that I am sitting on this fence. This was the last thing I expected to happen. BUT, do I want to go back to the Home Button? I think I will give this another day or three to adapt. Did anyone else
struggle with going down in size?
