Re: [apple-iphone] Apple Pay, Go Away UPDATE 2

The purpose of the passcode is to unlock the watch when putting it on your wrist. Since you had already done that, there was no reason to do it again since only you would be able to use Apple Pay from your watch.

I finally used Apple Pay today at a Wegman's Supermarket. The terminal had both symbols displayed. The cashier didn't know how to use it and it took awhile to find the spot where it worked. Once I held it over the display monitor all was good, EXCEPT...

I was expecting that I would be required to enter my Passcode on the watch. That didn't happen. So what is the purpose of the Passcode? My iPhone was in my pocket and presumably locked..

On my iPhone watch app settings I have "simple passcode" enabled and "unlock with iPhone" enabled.

It was nice to leave my wallet in my pocket and pay with the watch.
