To reboot my phone, after the quick up/down sequence, I have to hold down the on/off button for several seconds before the Apple logo appears.

I have gotten to the point where I can press the up/down buttons, them the on/off button without the swipe to turn off coming up. I hold the on/off button but nothing happens after that.

I looked at a couple videos on how to force restart the phone. Doesn't seem to work for me. I don't know if I'm too slow pushing the up and down volume control before holding the on/off button or if my phone just won't do it. Any suggestions would help.
