Re: [apple-iphone] Disabled iPhone, need help

It shouldn't matter if iTunes has been used with any other iPhone. All settings and backups are kept separate.

Before that, though, I would try a restart

FYI the SE is essentially the internals of a 6s in the body of a 5s.

My elderly mother in law has an iPhone SE. I think that is a version of the 5 or possibly the 6. I can't say for sure because the phone became "disabled." We don't know for certain what occured to disable the phone.

It never had a passcode set up but she said the phone was asking for a pass code. She may have typed a couple of zeros in but not sure.

She does not have a computer; the phone was not backed up to iTunes. She had WiFi in her home when we bought the phone for her but unfortunately it was turned off by Verizon a week later possibly when she told a visiting tech she didn't want Internet charges. She lives two hours from us and we did not get the phone to her before the WiFi was turned off. So no backup of any sort.

So now it seems we have an expensive paper weight.

It looks like we have to connect the phone to a computer with iTunes to fix the phone. I am hesitant to connect it to a computer that already has a phone backup on it. Am I being silly? I don't want to screw up another phone or iTunes setup. My wife once synced her phone to my computer and fouled up my setup, hence my paranoia.

I am thinking I can visit a Verizin store for help but if the members here can save me that trip I will be gratefull.

She is visiting us for a couple of days so we may have the opportunity to go to Verizon.

I should have bought har a simple basic cell phone but I planned to use Facetime in order to see her and resolve any issues that this 91 year old lady may have.
