A restart didn't work but sitting over night did.
It seems to be working now. Did an iCloud back up and now updating to iOS 11. But that has been balky.
I tried to disable the passcode but the phone continues to ask for it.
She will be moving close to us in a few weeks and will have no need for a cell phone.
Now to see if Verizon will let us out of the contract for this particular phone. Maybe, if possible trade it for an Apple Watch for my wife.
