Re: Re: [apple-iphone] Any issues with updating

Thanks Jim, I did delete a lot of the old apps I rarely used. I left a couple that might get updates.  I think the apps are still under purchased in my account and I think one was updated without being loaded on the phone.  I can't be totally sure though.  I did update all devices and was happy there were no glitches.  I rebooted each after completing the setup to be sure things were "set".  So far battery life is good, no overheating like happened with my 5S years ago. I think I will like the flicks keyboard on the ipad.  A lot faster typing in a complex password.

Thanks to everyone for their input.
Sue

I did all of my updates OTA hoping that the old apps would automatically be deleted, but that didn’t happen.

The iOS update is from Apple, as are a small number of apps that are not actually part of the OS — like Numbers, Pages, Keynote, and a few others.

But all those 67 apps you deleted originated with 3rd-party developers, so the iOS upgrade couldn’t fix them.

Now, some developers have been making their apps iOS 11 compatible for several weeks, and putting them on the App Store already.

But many developers decided to wait until the final release version of iOS 11 was published before making sure their updated app was fully compatible with it.

I am seeing several updates every day of incompatible apps that are now becoming compatible. I don’t know if the app store app will show you updates for apps that you installed but since deleted.
