Unfortunately, you are mistaken.
The iPhone 4 came in 2 distinct types, GSM and CDMA.
The CDMA version can *only* see CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz) networks.
It will not function on the more widespread GSM networks at all.
