After many crashes and resets, I went to the local Apple Store. Yes, I had 500 iApps or so, but 128 should be plenty of room (iPad Air has same capacity mirrors iApps very closely, not an issue). Suspected trouble, a firmware issue. iPhone reset as new, fortunately, still under warranty. I was advised not to restore from backup to rule out possible iApp issues. Busy now, re-loading apps (I kept a list!).
The phone gave me a gray screen, did not respond to gestures to dismiss apps, although I could sometimes return to the home screen.
Anyone else with similar issues?
