Hi Leti. The info on Downcast is interesting. Does it the same search capabilities that the Apple Podcast Player has? Is the catalog access the same? Thank you!

Carolann,
You're not doing anything wrong. The Apple Podcast app, in my opinion, is a lousy app. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, and each time they've updated it I've tried to make it work, but it just doesn't.
I finally gave up and switched to a third-party app. There are several out there; the one I use is Downcast. I've had no problems with it. You'll have to resubscribe to your podcasts within Downcast, but you only have to do that one time.

I have an iPhone 6 Plus with the latest IOS and a MacBookAir with 10.9.5. I am subscribed to several podcasts. After I listen to them they are supposed to be gone the next time. Sometimes if I don't want to listen to it all, I mark it as "Played." The next day when I go to my podcast list it has re-loaded many of those I had already listened to or marked as "Played". One of my podcasts has reloaded up to 20 episodes. The answer must lie in the Settings or Preferences. What am I doing wrong? It didn't used to do this. Thanks
