You could try vacuum sealing it, although I'm not sure how it would respond to touch.

You might have to try different thickness plastic sheet to see which one works best.

Context: I work on and around boats and use my phone a lot for talking to customers, suppliers, and taking pictures of things I can't see in spaces my head won't fit into. Risks include dropping my phone into a bilge of water. I also deliver yachts so spray is a constant issue. I need the phone in hand since if electronics fail aboard my iPhone is my backup (I sailed from about 400 miles east of South Carolina when electronics failed to the British Virgin Islands with Navimatics Charts & Tides on my iPhone 4).

Background: I had a Lifeproof case on my iPhone 4. It was great. The cover on the mute switch failed after a year but I consider that a wear item. Reviews for the newer Lifeproof cases (since Otterbox bought the company) have not been good AT ALL. I've read every review of all the alternatives I can find (Google, Amazon, iLounge, CNet, yada yada yada). Your mission, should you choose to accept it: I'm looking for first hand (including your friends where you have seen and touched the phone in a waterproof case) experience with waterproof cases for iPhone 6. Remember I've read the reviews and the specs and everything I can get my hands on.
