For those who are not already familiar with Apple beta pre-releases:

iOS 9 betaPRE-RELEASE

This is a pre-release version of iOS 9 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Devices updated to iOS 9 can not be restored to earlier versions of iOS.

Sign in with the Apple ID associated with your Apple Developer Program or Apple Developer Enterprise Program. Not a member? Learn more

If you are not willing to spend the next 4 months or so living day-to-day with whatever pre-release beta bugs are still present (and I guarantee they are there), then stay with the stable releases.

One possibility, of course, is if you have a spare iPhone or iPad sitting around that you van put the beta on while maintaining iOS 8.x on your main machine.
